This year, 21 per cent of Norwegian enterprises with at least ten employees are using one or more AI technologies, according to ICT usage in enterprises survey from Statistics Norway.

This is more than double the percentage from last year.

Generative AI –technology capable of creating new content such as text, code, images, or video – is the most widely adopted.

Text analysis is the fastest-growing AI technology. From just 4 per cent in both 2021 and 2023, the percentage has increased to 15 per cent so far this year.

Enterprises in the information and communication sector are the largest users of AI, with around three out of five utilising one or more AI technologies. This is two to three times higher than in other sectors.
