The Department of Psychology is one of seven units of the Faculty of Social Sciences, and has 75 permanent and 70 temporary members of scientific staff. Degrees are offered at bachelor and master level, plus a clinical training programme, and the PhD programme has 140 students.

The Department of Psychology announces 100% position as university lecturer (SKO 1009) in cognitive neuroscience

The position will be part of the Section for Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience with the following responsibilities:

  • to teach courses in cognitive and clinical neuroscience, including topics related to neuroscientific research methods.
  • to sensor exams related to cognitive/clinical neuroscience
  • to supervise theses at bachelor and master levels.

Exact teaching and administrative assignments will be arranged depending on qualifications and teaching needs within the department.

Qualification requirements

Applicants must

  • at minimum hold an MA degree in cognitive neuroscience/psychology, or an equivalent qualification.
  • demonstrate skills and experience in cognitive/clinical neuroscience and neuroscientific research methods.
  • show a strong interest in cognitive/clinical neuroscience.
  • exhibit pedagogical skills, teaching experience, and the ability to take active part in teaching and administrative work.
  • be interested and experienced in developing new teaching methods.
  • have good oral and written proficiency in English and Norwegian (or another Scandinavian language).

Skills and experience in disseminating cognitive/clinical neuroscience to the public are an advantage.
