A 3-4 year position as Postdoctoral Fellow at the Section for Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience, Department of Psychology, University of Oslo, is open for candidates with a PhD in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, or other relevant areas. The section covers research and teaching in cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience and clinical neuroscience/neuropsychology for the bachelor, the master, and the professional/clinical program in psychology. The section has good access to modern neuroscientific research methods and infrastructure (e.g., MRI, EEG, TES, eye tracking, clinical neuropsychological laboratory).

More about the position

The appointment is a fulltime position for a period of three or four years. Postdoctoral fellows appointed for a period of four years are obliged to contribute to teaching and administration with about 25% of their working time, and to acquire basic pedagogical competency as part of this duty component.

The successful applicant will be selected on the bases of their educational background, strong interest in cognitive and/or clinical neuroscience, their publication record, and a high quality project proposal within a research area relevant to the Section of Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience.

Applicants are encouraged to contact a research group leader or faculty staff member at the Section of Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience to discuss project plans and possible cooperation. Priority can be given to projects that contribute to enhanced collaboration within the section or other sections at the Department.

Qualification requirements

• Applicants must hold a degree equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in psychology, cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience, clinical neuroscience/neuropsychology or a related fields. The doctoral dissertation must have been submitted for evaluation prior to the closing date. The appointment is dependent on the public defence and the doctoral thesis being approved.

The candidate’s research focus must be relevant to ongoing research activities of research groups or faculty staff members within the Section for Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience. Sufficient experience with neuroscientific research methods, data analysis, and programming relevant for the proposed research project is required.
