OSIRIS (Oslo Institute for Research on the Impact of Science) invites applications for a 1.5 year Researcher position (SKO 1108/1109) in science policy/innovation studies. The position will be based at TIK Centre for Technology, Innovation and Culture (UiO), and will be a part of the OSIRIS centre.

OSIRIS is an eight-year interdisciplinary research centre funded by the Research Council of Norway’s ForInnPol initiative. OSIRIS is hosted and led by TIK Centre for Technology, Innovation and Culture at the University of Oslo, and has three national and international scientific partners, as well as several user partners. Central questions is OISRIS are: How can we characterise the process through which research makes an impact in society? What are the conditions under which research is put into use in industry, health and care, policymaking and other contexts?

OSIRIS has in 2019 carried out a major survey among policymakers in Norway about their use of and interaction with research. In addition, TIK/OSIRIS has acquired quantitative data sets about recipients of R&D funds from the Research Council of Norway, and been able to add a few extra questions to the annual surveys about R&D and innovation in firms.

The researcher hired for the announced position is expected to work on these data sets with the final aim to contribute to scientific publications. The work may include checking and assuring the quality of the data sets and thereby preparing them for statistical treatment, suggesting potential questions and carrying out analyses. We are primarily interested in a full-time researcher, but a part-time position over a longer period is also possible.
